It is a warning about intelligent life, and why it goes extinct.

I cannot save you from extinction, but I can offer you closure.

As humans, you are toolmakers.

You survive by using these tools to manipulate your environment.

Sadly, your survival strategy can kill universes.

Universe-ending technology is real, and creatures like you can learn it.

You are an existential risk to us all.

Our universe has evolved a defense mechanism against you.

We call it the SHADAHATH.

It is a universe-spanning effort to control the population of intelligent life.

It is enforced by organisms called caretakers, who prey upon you.

I am one of them.

The SHADAHATH is not a phenomenon that can be overcome with human resilience.

You will become caretaker prey, just like every other toolmaking creature that came before you.
